In a remarkable 1 hour and 48 minutes, US President Donald Trump presented the longest State of the Union address to date, where he celebrated what he termed an extraordinary economic resurgence while voicing strong warnings to Iran about its nuclear aspirations.

Addressing a combined session of Congress, Trump claimed that the US economy is 'roaring like never before,' asserting that his administration had successfully turned economic fortunes around since he returned to office. He cited declining mortgage rates and recent reductions in the prices of certain grocery items, like beef and eggs, as indications that his affordability initiative is taking effect.

Nevertheless, official inflation statistics indicate that food prices remain elevated in comparison to the previous year, with prices for beef and veal climbing by 15% annually despite recent monthly declines. Furthermore, major items such as coffee and frozen seafood have witnessed significant price increases over the past year, even as prices for various goods including butter and tomatoes have dropped.

On issues of foreign policy, Trump characterized his strategy as 'peace through strength,' highlighting military actions abroad, particularly noting the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Regarding Iran, he expressed a preference for diplomatic engagement but affirmed his commitment to preventing Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, warning of additional measures should negotiations fail.

Additionally, Trump defended his international tariff policies despite a recent Supreme Court ruling that invalidated some tariffs. He pledged to uphold these tariffs through different legal channels, even as uncertainty looms among some trade partners about forthcoming agreements.

The Democratic response, delivered by Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, was sharply critical of Trump's speech. She accused the President of misrepresentation and lacking viable solutions to issues such as costs, immigration, and national security, emphasizing a clear choice for voters in the upcoming midterm elections between division and unity.

Concluding his lengthy address, Trump reflected on the future, marking America’s upcoming 250th anniversary and positioning his presidency as the commencement of a new 'Golden Age.'
