A woman has shared a dramatic account of how she narrowly escaped a fatal accident when a large container fell from a trailer. The incident occurred as she was heading to work.

Narrating the event, the woman, identified as Sylvia Egbuji, explained that a trailer carrying a container had created a traffic obstruction, blocking the entrance to a street she intended to use.

According to her account, a LASTMA (Lagos State Traffic Management Authority) official approached and directed her to park her vehicle beside the stationary trailer. However, Egbuji chose not to follow the instruction. Instead, she reversed and entered the street via an alternative route.

Moments after she had driven away, the container detached from the trailer and crashed down onto the exact spot where the LASTMA official had advised her to stop.

In a detailed post, she expressed her lingering shock and reflections: "Something happened this morning on my way to work, I'm still filled with all kinds of thought...

"But one thing I learnt long ago is never to ignore anytime I have a sign that something is about to happen..."

She continued, "As I was about entering the street I noticed a Container truck was parked at the entrance, arguing with agberos. So I asked the person with me to step down and control the cars coming out so I can enter.

"He stepped down and was going to the other end to stop the cars when a LASTMA walked up to me and asked me to reverse back and park at one corner so the truck can go. I told him to allow me since I'm the only car coming in, he said no that I should go and park where he asked me to park.

"I reversed back and one thing just said don't park you have alternative use it. Instead of parking I entered the main road and drove into the next street to connect through it. I called the person that stepped down and told him that I'm coming in through the other street, he said better..."

Egbuji further recounted the immediate aftermath: "The moment I bursted through the other street I saw cars reversing, then the person that stepped down walked up to me and said guess what, that container don fall ooo, guess where it landed, exactly at the place I was asked to park. E still be me like Nollywood.

"I was still in the car, a call came in, and it was my sister, she said someone told her about the container and she wanted to check and be sure we are safe. I no see mouth tell her weitin happen...."
